Where did the year go?

It is now new year, where did the last one go. I am now Chairman of our Embroiderers' Guild and have set a challenge of Recycle, reassemble and reuse.I have bought a lot of books on embroidery and now I need to read them, and perhaps some inspiration will come to me.I hope to put some pictures on of work done by our Guild members over the year. The shoes were from an article in Stitch by Annette Emmes, and cross is a stole in the making for a local vicar.

A sad day for us.

Shadow (the one in the foreground) has just died, she would have been 15 in September. She was a very intelligent dog. Amos at the back is scatty.

August

Went to Frodsham to see friend's students C&G work. Very impressive. Nice day. Now I am busy making small gifts for a craft fair in September.

Exhibition at Voirrey at Brimstage.

Going tonight to see preview of Customers Exhibition. I have two pieces in.
We have just finished an exhibition of our work at Voirrey Brimstage (Wirral Branch of the Embroiderers' Guild) and now it is the "Customers Exhibition" which Voirrey puts on each August. Had to rush to finish a piece for it.

Book course at Chester& Wirral.

I went on a course early on in May, and then went to Spain to see my son and his wife. I now have to complete the book I started. I chose to do mine based on Flowers and the poem Our England is a Garden, by Rudyard Kipling. I learnt this poem when I was evacuuated to Ewelme in Oxforshire in 1940 and I loved the mental pictures the poem conjures up! I also went on another course, but managed to finish that project which was a book (again) to put photos or things in. I will try to insert a few pictures of the work in progress. Bye for now.
